Résumé / Abstract

The Black family in America has almost always been deemed matriarchal because of absentee fathers. And yet, fatherhood in the US for Blacks has a long story that harks back to slavery and its contemporary ramifications that precludes opportunities for African American males. He sets out to achieve economic success as per the US constitution which enshrines the pursuit of happiness as an inalienable right.
